Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take custom orders?

Yes! I would love to create a meaningful piece of custom painted jewelry for you. However, I only paint landscape, nature or building scenes! I cannot paint people or animals, but I would be happy to refer you to other makers that do. Please reach out to me through the form on my website, social media, or email to discuss your request. Please feel free to attach the reference photo in question to help me with your request.

The time it will take to complete the custom order will vary depending on complexity and my workload at the time of the request. We will discuss an anticipated completion date when you message me.  The price of custom piece will also vary depending on project type and complexity.

I would be happy to answer any other custom order questions you have. Please also refer to my custom order policy for more information.

What metal do you use for your jewelry?

My artisan jewelry is finished using surgical grade stainless steel metal, real gold plated or sterling silver plated metal components that are carefully sourced and tested by me.  Each product listing will indicate the metal used to construct each piece. Remember, you know your skin best!

Is everything really hand-painted?

Yes! Each piece of hand-painted jewelry is meticulously hand-painted by myself (Andrea Hanson) as the sole artist behind Art & Anne. Each piece is painted here in Sudbury with my very tiny paint brushes and acrylic paint.

That means that every single, individual piece of jewelry (every individual earring, necklace pendant, bracelet etc.) is one-of-a-kind! This also means that each piece of hand-painted jewelry will vary slightly from the images on my website (i.e. placement of trees in my hand-painted jewelry may vary, colours may also vary slightly, etc.). No two pieces are alike, which is the fun thing about art! My jewelry are literal pieces of miniature wearable pieces of art for your ears.

Where do you sell your art?

You can find a selection of my hand-painted artisan jewelry and various print products in-store at the locations listed on my stockists page! I also participate in markets throughout the year, learn more about my upcoming events on my events page!

If you are a retailer who is interested in wholesaling my work or would like to work with me through consignment, I would love to chat with you. Please fill out an inquiry through my Get in Touch page to access the Wholesale Shop passcode, or ask me questions!

How should I care for my jewelry?

Each wearable piece of art is handcrafted with care! Please follow these instructions carefully to increase the longevity of your piece:

  • Avoid contact with water, perfume, skincare products and other chemicals.

  • Take jewelry off before bathing and swimming. This is especially important for hand-painted and gold plated pieces!

  • Never bend pieces and avoid contact with rough/sharp surfaces.

  • Store in a cool dark place. Pieces with resin do not like extreme heat or direct sunlight.

  • If cleaning is required, use warm water, dish soap and a soft cloth. Pat completely dry.
